【日記】オオハクチョウが増えてきました Whooper Swans at Lake Kussharo

屈斜路湖に浮かぶオオハクチョウがどんどん増えてきました。真冬でも滞在するグループか、南下している最中で休んでいるだけのグループなのかは分からないですが、プカプカと湖面に浮かんでいる姿が見られます。そんな彼らを湖畔に座りながら見ていました。それらが飛び立とうとするときは足と羽をバタバタさせながらまるで湖面を走っているかのように見えるのが面白いですよね。

The number of Whooper Swan at Lake Kussharo is increasing. We can’t know if they are the group of staying in winter or during migrating. We can anyway find swan floating on the lake. When I was watching them from the coast in the evening, one swan started to fly with shaking its wing and legs like running on the water.
