秋にやろうと思っていた薪割ですが、ずっと置いておくと乾燥して固くなってしまうので、夏の空いた時間を使ってコツコツと薪割をしてきました。細かく切っては割って、切っては割ってを繰り返していきます。割った薪はウッドデッキの下に積んでいきます。
割っては積んで、割っては積んで…。結局秋を待たずして、切った木の薪は積み終わりました。
薪の作り方が雑だったので、大きさがバラバラだときれいに薪が詰めないのですね。来年はもう少し意識して切っていきたいと思います。後はこの薪の量で足りているのかが気になりますが、来年燃やしてみて、どの程度必要なのか見極めたいと思います。
I thought I would chop woods in Autumn but if we leave them till Autumn, woods become hard. So I chopped woods when I had time during Summer. I continued to cut, chop and pile up firewood under the wood deck. I finished in the end of Summer before Autumn came.
As it was rough to make firewood and different in size, piling them up was difficult. I think I will try to cut in same size next year. I then wonder if amount of firewood is enough or not. I will see when I burn them next year.
